OFFICIAL RULES FOR 2009 MORTON® SALT ULTIMATE BBQ BASH SWEEPSTAKES
SPONSORED BY MORTON INTERNATIONAL, INC.
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING A PRIZE. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. THE FOLLOWING SWEEPSTAKES IS INTENDED FOR VIEWING IN THE 50 UNITED STATES AND DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA ONLY (EXCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, GUAM, PUERTO RICO, U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS, AND OTHER U.S. TERRITORIES AND POSSESSIONS) AND SHOULD BE CONSTRUED AND EVALUATED BY U.S. LAW AND AMERICAN ENGLISH. YOU MUST BE THE AGE OF MAJORITY IN YOUR STATE OF RESIDENCE OR OLDER TO ENTER.
The Sweepstakes Period begins 12:00:01 AM Eastern Time (“ET”) on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 (“Start Date”), and ends 11:59:59 PM ET on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 (“End Date”). Sponsor’s computer is the official time-keeping device for the Sweepstakes.
The 2009 Morton® Salt Ultimate BBQ Bash Sweepstakes (“Sweepstakes”) is open only to legal U.S. residents of the fifty (50) United States and District of Columbia (excluding Guam, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands and other U.S. Territories and possessions) who have reached the age of majority in their state of residence as of Wednesday, May 6, 2009. Employees, officers, directors, agents, and representatives of Morton International, Inc. (“Sponsor”) and its successor in interest, Matchpoint Marketing, their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, any of their respective partners or prize suppliers (“Sponsor Affiliates”) and any members of their immediate family (defined as spouse, mother, father, children, sister, brother, in-laws, grandmother, grandfather, and grandchildren, regardless of where they live) or members of the same household are not eligible to participate. This Sweepstakes is void in Guam, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, and other U.S. territories and possessions and where prohibited by law, and is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws.
This Sweepstakes is only on the Internet, and there is one method of entry. Go to www.mortonsaltbbqbash.com and follow the directions for entering. You will be required to register for the Sweepstakes for free and to complete an online entry form including a valid name, valid U.S. postal address, daytime phone number, date of birth, and valid email address for which you are the Authorized Account Holder. “Authorized Account Holder” is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization (e.g., business, educational institution, etc.) responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address. In case of a dispute regarding who submitted a particular entry, the entry will be deemed submitted by the Authorized Account Holder of the email account. Online entries must be complete and received by 11:59:59 PM ET on Wednesday, September 30, 2009. Limit: One entry per person per e-mail address. Proof of entry is not proof of an eligible entry. Entries must be made by an individual from a stand-alone computer and may not be made by proxy or any electronic/automated means such as script, bot, macro or any other similar software or program. Online entries generated by script, macro or other automated means are void. Normal Internet access and usage charges imposed by an entrants’ online service will apply and shall be the sole responsibility for the entrant. Sponsor and Sponsor Affiliates do not assume any responsibility for those who cannot access the Internet or for the incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry information due to technical malfunctions (including, but not limited to, hardware, software, telephone, Internet, virus contamination or network problems, busy or unavailable network connections, failed/incomplete/lost or garbled data transmissions, and interrupted service), typographical or system errors, human errors, and any other omission, interruption, deletion, defect or failure of any telephone or computer line or network, computer equipment, software or any combination thereof.
Random Drawing: One (1) Grand Prize Winner and Twenty-Five (25) First-Prize Winners will be selected in a random drawing on or about Wednesday, October 14, 2009 from among all eligible entries received. The drawing will be conducted by MatchPoint Marketing, whose decisions are final and legally binding on all matters related to this Sweepstakes. Odds of winning are dependent upon the number of eligible entries received in the Sweepstakes Period for the drawing.
Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”): There is one (1) Grand Prize, an Ultimate Party Pack, consisting of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000) in a variety of Sponsor-specified gift cards that can be used to purchase a gas grill and related patio furniture. The Ultimate Party Pack also includes one (1) Fifty Dollar ($50) Morton® Salt gift basket with a variety of seasonings. The gift cards contain certain restrictions and expiration dates relating to their use and redemption. The ARV of the Grand Prize: $10,050.
There are twenty-five (25) First Prizes. The First Prize is a Morton® Salt gift basket with a variety of seasonings. The ARV for each First Prize: $50. The total ARV of all First Prizes: $1,250.

Winners selected in the random drawing will be notified by phone and/or mail. The potential Grand Prize winner will be required to complete, sign, and return, a notarized Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability Release, and where legal, a Publicity Release. The potential Grand Prize winner is required to return the document within 14 days from the postmark date on the prize notification letter, or the prize may be forfeited and an alternate winner selected. A prize or prize notification that is returned as undeliverable will disqualify the potential winner, and an alternative potential winner shall be selected in a random drawing shortly thereafter. There is a limit of one (1) prize per person, family or household.
Each winner is responsible for any and all federal, state, and local taxes applicable for the prize awarded to and received by such winner.
All federal, State and local laws, regulations, and ordinances apply. The Sweepstakes is void where prohibited. The administration, winner selection, and winner verification for this Sweepstakes will be conducted by Matchpoint Marketing. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who provides inaccurate or fraudulent information, tampers or attempts to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the Sweepstakes, or violates the Official Rules. If, for any reason, the Sweepstakes is not capable of running as planned due infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failure, human error, or any other causes beyond the control of Sponsor that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the Sweepstakes, Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Sweepstakes and award the prizes from among all eligible entries received prior to such cancellation or termination.
By entering this Sweepstakes, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the judges. The prizes are non-transferable and non-assignable, except at the Sponsor’s sole discretion. No prize substitution, exchange, or cash equivalent will be allowed except by Sponsor who reserves the right to substitute a prize (or portion of a prize) with a prize of equal or greater value in case of unavailability of a prize, or force majeure. The winners agree to indemnify and to hold harmless and waive any and all claims of liability of any kind whatsoever against the Sponsor and Sponsor Affiliates, including any accident, loss, personal injury, death, or property damage occurring or in any way related to the prizes or use/misuse thereof or while traveling to and/or from a location to obtain or use a prize. By accepting a prize, a prize winner waives the right to: (1) assert as a cost of winning the prize any and all costs of verification, redemption or travel to redeem said prize, and (2) claim any liability (including attorneys’ fees and costs) which may arise from redeeming or seeking to redeem said prize. Neither Sponsor nor Sponsor Affiliates make any warranty, representation or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to the use of the prizes including, without limitation, the prize’s quality, merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
Winners’ acceptance of a prize grants Sponsor and its designees the right to publicize the winners’ names, addresses (city and state of residence), photographs, voices and likenesses, and prize information for purposes of advertising, trade and promotion on behalf of Sponsor in any and all media now known or hereafter devised, through the world, in perpetuity, without limitation and without further compensation, consideration, notification, or permission, unless prohibited by law. Winners agree to execute any and all documents requested by Sponsor to convey such rights to own all the results thereof. Nothing contained herein shall be deemed to obligate Sponsor to make use of the rights granted herein and winner waives any right to inspect or approve any such use of any and every nature and kind.
Sponsor collects personal information from entrants when they register on the site and enter the Sweepstakes. The information collected is subject to Sponsor’s Privacy Policy found by clicking on “Privacy Policy” located at www.mortonsalt.com.
Any and all claims and controversies regarding this Sweepstakes shall be governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to the State’s conflict of law rules. All disputes arising out of this Sweepstakes, including its administration and execution, shall be litigated in a court of competent jurisdiction in Cook County, Illinois. Each entrant waives any and all objections to jurisdiction and hereby irrevocably submits to the venue of the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois. If any provision of the Sweepstakes shall be deemed to violate any federal, state or local law, regulation, or ordinance, it shall be amended to conform to such law, and all other provision shall remain in full force and effect.

Entries mailed to this address are void and will be discarded.
